Veg makhanwala recipe|veg makhani recipe is a soft Makhan flavoured onion and tomato gravy with different vegetables in it. This delicious recipe belongs north indian cusine. Veg makhanwala recipe goes well with roti or rice.

To get the makhan flavour to the veg makhanwala recipe, we use milk cream. It is very easy to prepare, daily kitchen ingredients are sufficient. The vegetables used for this recipe are listed below. Additionally, you can use green peas,corn, and paneer also to enrich the taste.

I have given two methods, to prepare this veg makhanwala recipe. Choose your convenient method. Both are easy to make.

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Equipment required  :  Saute’ Curry Pan

Ingredients:

Required vegetables:
  1. Onions : 2, finely chopped
  2. Tomato: 4, make puree
  3. Cauliflower: half cup, florets
  4. Carrot : half cup, dieced
  5. French beans: half cup, chopped
  6. Potato: small, cubed
Other ingredients:
  1. Garam masala powder: 1.5 table spoon (I am using Everest Garam Masala Powder )
  2. Red chilli powder: 1 table spoon
  3. Corainder powder: half table spoon
  4. Turmeric powder: half table spoon
  5. Salt : as required
  6. Cashews: 5, soaked
  7. Cinnamon stick: 1 number
  8. Star anise: 1
  9. Bay leaf: 1
  10. Cardamom: 2
  11. Kasuri methi: 1/4th table spoon
  12. Cream: 3 table spoons (I am using Amul Fresh Cream )

Procedure:

Method 1:
  1. Take one table spoon of butter and one table spoon of oil in a heavy bottomed pan. Then add cinnamon stick, star anise, bay leaf and cardmom. Saute for a while.
  2. Add carrot and potato pieces, saute till half cooked. Then add onions, ginger garlic paste and cauliflower florets. Saute till cauliflower florets are half done.
  3. Now add french beans and fry till half done. Next add capsicum pieces, saute for 1 minute. Now add tomato puree and saute till oil separates.
  4. Now turmeric and remaining spice powders. Saute for 2 minutes. Add cashew paste, fry till oil separates. Add kasuri methi and stir niecly.
  5. Now add 1 cup water and bring it to boil. Now adjust salt and reduce the flame to low. Cook till desired gravy consistency appears.
  6. Finally whisk the cream and mix gently. And switch off the stove.
Method 2:
  1. Take one table spoon of butter and one table spoon of oil in a heavy bottomed pan. Add cinnamon stick, star anise, bay leaf and cardmom. Saute for a while.
  2. Next add onions, saute till oil separates. Add spice powders and saute for 2 minutes.
  3. Now add tomato puree and saute till oil separates. Then add cashew paste and saute till oil separates. Add kasuri methi and stir niecly.
  4. Now add sauted or steamed vegetables and cook for 2 minutes. Add 1 cup water and bring it to boil.
  5. Now reduce the flame to low and cook till desired gravy appears.
  6. Finally whisk the cream and mix gently to the curry. And switch off the stove.

Tasty veg makhanwala recipe is ready to serve. Serve hot with roti or rice.

Additioal tip:
  • Garnish with cream before serve.
Notes:
  • To make veg makhanwala recipe even more quickly, saute or steam vegetables.
  • Add red chilli powder and garam masala according to your taste.
  • Whisk the cream, to avoid curdling.
