Rava dosa recipe, how to make instant rava dosa recipe

Rava dosa recipe is a one of the authentic dosa recipe from south India. The main ingredients for the preparation of rava dosa are rice flour and sooji rava. The rava dosa is crispy and soft  in texture. Rava dosa goes well with coconut chutney, peanut chutney and sambar.

Rava dosa can be prepared instantly, as there no soaking, no fermentation required.  But, as compared to normal dosa, it will take little more time to cook. The batter consistency to make this dosa should be very thin (watery). If the batter is thick, your dosa will not be crunchy and thin. So thin batter(like watery) consistency is the main key point to remember to make this delicious crispy rava dosa.

We can use finely chopped onions, green chillies and cumin seeds (jera) as toppings. You can also add finely chopped ginger, coriander leaves as well.

Ingredients:

  1. Rice flour: 1 cup
  2. Sooji rava: 2 table spoons
  3. Onions:1,  finely chopped
  4. Green chillies: 3, finely chopped
  5. Cumin seeds (jeera): 2 table spoons
  6. Salt: as required
  7. Oil: as required

Procedure:

  1. In a bowl, mix rice flour, sooji rava and salt. Add 4 cups of water and mix well, make thin batter(as shown below).
  2. Now heat dosa pan(should be too hot), then sprinkle one drop of oil and rub allover the pan using a onion piece.
  3. Now take one laddle full of batter and sprinkle allover the pan(as shown below).
  4. Sprinkle some finely chopped onions, chillies and cumin seeds.  Sprinkle 1 table spoon of allover edjes of the dosa.
  5. Cook dosa for 3 minutes on meduim flame and then flip it. Cook on both sides niecly.

Crunchy, softy rava dosa is ready to serve. Serve hot with chutney or sambar.
