Gobi manchurian dry recipe, how to make gobi manchurian

Gobi manchurian dry is one of the famous recipes from indo chinese cuisine. It is an unique recipe with crunchyest cauliflower(gobi) florets, enriched and tossed with manchurian sauces. It is very easy to prepare. This gobi manchurian dry goes well as a snack or we can have it as a side dish with fried rice or with noodles.

While preparing, we will slightly boil the cauliflower florets and toss them in corn flour batter. We will deep fry these florets and later toss them in manchirman  are sauces (chilli sauce, soya sauce and venigar), along with slight roasted onions and capsicum pieces.

Similarly, we can make gobi manchurian gravy as well, by simply adding corn flour mixed with water. I am not using ajinomoto in this gobi manchurian dry recipe, because it is considered as unhealthy.

Ingredients
  • Cauliflower florets: 2 cups
  • Maida(all purpose flour): 2 table spoons
  • Onions: 1 small, cut into the cube shape pieces
  • Capsicum: 1 small, cut into the cube shape pieces
  • Spring onion: half cup, funefi chopped
  • Garlic cloves:4, finely chopped
  • Corn flour: 2 table spoons
  • Soya sauce: 3 table spoons
  • Chilli sauce: 2 table spoons
  • Venigar: 1 table spoon
  • Tomato ketchup: 2 table spoons
  • Salt : as required
Instructions
  1. First wash the cauliflower florets and boil for 2-3 minutes. Remove from hot water and set a side.
  2. In a bowl, add maida, corn flour,one table spoon of soya sauce and required salt. Mix well. Add 2-3 table spoons of water and make thin batter. Add boiled cauliflower florets to this batter and mix well.
  3. In a frying pan, heat 1 cup of oil. Once hot, fry 5 to 6 florets (thise florets mixed in batter) at a time on high flame. Fry all the florets and set a side.
  4. In a curry pan, add 2 table spoons of oil. once oil becomes hot, add thinely chopped garlic, then saute for a while.
  5. Next add onions and capsicum pieces, fry for 1 minute. Add tomato ketchup, chilli sauce and soya sauce and cook for 1 minute.
  6. Next add fried cauliflower florets and mix well. Cook for half a minute. Finally, add venigar and chopped spring onion, mix well. Cook for half minute. And switch off the flame.
